Itinerary
- Our special adventure will begin with the pick up from your hotel in Puno between 7:30 am and 8:00 am, we will take you to the port of Puno, where our guide will be waiting for us along with the kayaks or sport canoes. He will provide a brief explanation and instructions and then we will board the kayak, and we will begin paddling for about an hour, along with our support boat, to the floating Islands of the Uros. On the route we will be able to observe the Esteves Island with a great hotel located there and some birds such as herons, andean flamingos and seagulls. In addition we will observe how the bulrush grows, plant that was used for the construction of the floating islands.
- Upon the arrival to the islands, a local family will welcome us, and we will share their experiences and customs of living in these islands. Finally we will take our kayaks and paddle to Puno, where we will arrive around 12 noon.
- Leaving from Llachon a half – day option is available which takes you paddling along the shoreline to reach the point of the Capa Chica Peninsula, with underwater views of the shore-line: rocks, algae and miniature marine life as well as views of local households and small docks.
- On return, snacks.
