This Amazonas tour expedition is for those looking to experience the rain forest on a more calmed pace. Walk the trails and meet the giants of the Amazon, visit the Ñape medicinal center led by a member of the Native Community of Infierno, explore the Tres Chimbadas oxbow lake, enjoy some time-off laying down at the hammock and share the stories and traditions of the Infierno Community.

Departures: Daily

Day 1

Arrival and reception at the airport. Transfer to Puerto Maldonado continuing by Tambopata River Port, and the Native Community of Infierno. Box lunch.

Then, 45-minute journey from Tambopata river port to Posada Amazonas, arriving to the Community primary forest private reserve. Arrival and brief orientation.

20-minute walk from Posada Amazonas to the 30-metre canopy tower. You will enjoy spectacular views of the vast forest. Opportuniy to observe toucans, parrots and macaws. Dinner.

Finally, Ecotourism project: presentation on the Infierno ecotourism project is available every night.

Overnight in Posada Amazonas. (BL-D).

Day 2

Breakfast.

Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake: Tres Chimbadas is located 30 minutes by boat and 45 minutes hiking from Posada Amazonas. Arrival and journey by catamaran, you will observe the family of nine giant river otters and other lakeside wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers.

Parrot clay lick: Located 20-minute walk from Posada Amazonas.  You will be able to appreciate dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank.

Lunch.

Ethnobotanical Tour: 20-minute boat journey to Centro Ñape. The Centro Ñape is a local organisation that produces medicines. Dinner.

Optional night walk. Overnight in Posada Amazonas. (B-L-D).

Day 3

Parrot clay lick: Located 20-minute walk from Posada Amazonas.  You will be able to appreciate dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank.

Breakfast.

Ceiba Trail Hike: 2-hour hike, observing the largest tree in the area: the giant ceiba tree. You will learn about the natural history of the rainforest.

Lunch.

Farm Visit: 30-minute boat journey to the most complete farm in the community of Infierno. You will find a great variety of Amazon crops.

Dinner.

Overnight in Posada Amazonas. (B-L-D).

Day 4

Breakfast.

Transfer by boat from Posada Amazonas to Tambopata River Port, then to Puerto Maldonado.

Arrival to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport. (B).
